Monthly updates and future plans

Since the first release we worked hard and managed to get quite a good bunch of  stuff into the game. We always try to improve and constantly discuss  different topics. What's next, where do we need to improve?

We realized that the monthly release cycle forces us to focus on short term improvements and content. There's simply not enough time to make big changes or add larger scaled content.

We have alot of ideas but one month is often not enough to implement them in a decent way. For example: Since we added the village not much happened there. Some additions here and there but overall it feels lack luster. To really make the village a worthy part of the game we need one month. We never did it because we felt an update with only a reworked village would be disappointing for our supporters.

Our goal is to make a game with good gameplay and appealing sexual content. So we came to the conclusion to change our release cycle.
From now on we won't release a new version at the beginning of every month (or later as a free version). Versions will be released "when it's done". We will keep you updated on the progress more regulary so you'll get a glimpse of what's coming next.

For supporters this means: your support is more general - to see our game grow, to get stuff earlier and have insight in the creation process. We really appreciate that. But we also understand those who are not willing to support a game which doesn't throw out new content on a fixed time every month.

So what are we planning to do with the game? We were talking about how to improve the gameplay in general and decided that we want to try out a different approach for the combat.

The concept of the village might also change as we went away from the initial idea of crafting and building the village.

Another big thing on our list is to make the world feel more lively meaning we are trying to increase the map sizes as well as creating a way to add more 'villager' NPCs. Not relevant for the story but there to  populate the world. Those NPCs might also be a source for new, lewd  content as we also want to test the long demanded sexscenes with ingame graphics.

So, just a glimpse of what we are planning. I will keep you updated shortly with some more infos.

Update to V.1611-02! Critical save bugfix

This update fixes a game breaking bug regarding quests. This is the first unity AGAHD release which requires a minor version patch. The problem is a stupid naming bug.

The third party asset (tool / addon) we use for dialogues and quests uses capitalized quest states on the programming side: 'Unassigned', 'Active', 'Success'.
For some reason they decided to use lowercase quest states in the database: 'unassigned', 'active', 'success'.
We knew this and made it right... 7 out of 8 times. It was corret in our debug tools, that's why this bug slipped through the tests.
After loading the game every lowercase quest state was overwritter by uppercase quest states.
In the end the game checken: 'Active' is not equal 'active', what messed up the whole quest system.

If you saved only once, save files work. If you saved multiple times on the same save state it's most likely broken.
We will try to improve our tests, but especially quests have thousands of combinations which makes it hard to find all bugs. Thanks to Ian Gilligan for informing us of this bug.

New release V.1611-01

Hey folks,

it is time to make the latest release public, so here ya go! V.1611-01 is available for download in the download-section of this blog. Please keep in mind that old savegames sadly wont work this time. We had to restructure some technical stuff for them so they now will hopefully work for future versions. It's always a bit tricky with save as some things might change here and there which are then missing in the old save and thus breaking the game. But we will improve on that.

We hope you like the new stuff in this version and if you like, support us on patreon. Also stay tuned for more infos comming up soon on some changes regarding the gameplay and the monthly updates.

Savegamefix V.1609-01 to V.1610-01

Hey people,

some of you reported having problems loading their old savegames in the new released version. It's a stupid bug. When we added the new multiple save game feature, the old save game worked. Then we added more new features and forgot to look at the old save game again.

The game is changing everyday and it's hard to keep track of all the relevant things. To make your 1609 save game work in the 1610 version check our download page. There you will find a patch.

However it's not recommended to use your old save game. While investigating this issue we realized there may be some problems with the quests and the gallery. Also we modified some old areas, so there's some replay value.

For future versions we will always try to make old save games work, but sometimes the changes are too fundamental.

Sorry for the inconvenience, we'll do our best to avoid things like that.

Release V.1610-01 for public out now!

So here ya go,

V.1610-01 has been released for public. Feel free to download it from our d/l-site and also be sure to check our new About the game site.

Feel free to support us on patreon if you like our game and want to get new releases sooner then everybody else.

. in the start screen menu a code can be entered. This code is provided through our patreon page.
. if a correct code was entered, a button with cheat options will be available in the in game menu
. the code changes every version
. the code only needs be entered once

-- Added menu for multiple savestates
. auto save was removed

-- Added Gallery
. once a scene is unlocked it stays permanently unlocked

-- Added "Cock Fruit"
. adds permanently 10HP
. one can be found in every area (desert, forest, graveyard, prison)

-- Sword can be upgraded

A Girl And Her Dog - V.16010-1 release (patrons only)

New public release: V.1609-01

Hey folks,

so after releasing the new version at the beginning of this month for our patrons, we are now releasing it to public for everyone.

Again, here's an overview of what we did:

- Rewrote all dialogues to create a more consistent world lore and story
- Added Questlog
. 10 quests
- Added Progress bar
- Added Teleporters
- Added Save and Load
. game can be loaded and saved manually in main menu
. game is automatically saved when using teleporters
. savestate is located in C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\LocalLow\PixelProduct\AGirlAndHerDog
- Added Start screen with menu
- Added Healthbar for bosses
- Added new Area

- Added 2 new NPC

- Added special abilty for the player which can be unlocked
